First constructed in 1889 by architect Ludwig Heim (the appointed master builder of the government), the building was originally used as the Dresdner Bank headquarters. After 1945, it housed the Central Bank of the German Democratic Republic. The ornate and classical design of the original building has been given a contemporary twist by renowned designer Tommaso Ziffer. This has created a wonderful blend of traditional splendour and modern-day chic. Covering an area of 700 m², the hotel’s spa and gym offers everything you need for a relaxing break or a satisfying workout. In addition to the listed facilities, it features a 20-metre indoor pool (originally a bank vault), relaxation areas and 6 treatment cabins for various therapies and beauty treatments. The hotel uses products from The Organic Pharmacy, Eminence and Julisis. With its extraordinarily high ceiling and glazed roof, the hotel’s impressive ballroom provides a splendid backdrop for your special events. It accommodates up to 250 guests. The Opera Court is a grand room with an original glazed ceiling. It is the focal point for coffee and afternoon tea.
